*Please note that “you” in Russian has 2 variations: formal – “vyh” and informal “tyh”. You should always start with using formal you, but It’s completely normal to ask permission to be more informal on the 1st date. To do so ask:
- Mozhna nahm pereiti nah tyh? – Can we change it to informal you?
If your partner agrees (which is usually a polite thing to do) then in the sentences above you should use the 2nd word, after the slash.
